Bravado and Warner Bros. Consumer Products line up expansive UK licensing partnership

Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Bravado – the merchandise and brand management division of Universal Music Group – have detailed a new partnership across some of the biggest titles of the Studio’s 2021 and 2022 slate, as well as over 100 iconic movies and heritage brands.

A first of its kind partnership between the two industry giants, the agreement recognises Bravado as a key UK licensee, covering adult apparel for iconic film and entertainment brands including Space Jam, Mortal Kombat, and The Matrix, as well as franchises within the DC universe, including Aquaman, Batman, Black Adam, and Justice League.

The first lines of merchandise will hit UK retail, online and in-store, beginning Summer 2021.

‘Having developed an impressive and extensive roster of entertainment-based licenses, the Warner Bros. Consumer Products partnership reaffirms Bravado’s position as the go to licensing management company for global brands that cross into music, film, TV and sport,’ read a statement from the firm.

The multi-collection partnership will service a broad range of partners across all areas of retail including a series of fashion led capsule collections. Product will be live across UK retail stores and eCommerce from Summer 2021.

Moose Toys and Warner Bros. launch full Space Jam: A New Legacy toy line with play-sets, figures, plush and more

Moose Toys and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have released the full line of toys based on this year’s big movie release, Space Jam: A New Legacy, starring LeBron James and his Tune Squad team as they face down the newly launches Goon Squad.

The toys have been launched ahead of the release of the film this year, in a move – according to Moose Toys’ senior director of global marketing, licensed brands, Joe Smith, to “fuel enthusiasm for Space Jam: A New Legacy this year.”

Moose Toys released first details of the Space Jam toy line up, featuring LeBron James and the Tune Squad. With the launch of the complete collection, the firm has released the latest update on its line-up of baddies, the Goon Squad, as well as extended collectable lines.

The Goon Squad line-up includes ‘super-enhanced’ animated versions of real-life basketball all-stars playing to win within the Warner 3000 entertainment digital ‘serververse.’ The line-up includes Chronos, White Mamba, Arachnneka, Wet/Fire, and The Brow, each with their own abilities to tie the Tune Squad in knots.

“Launching the toy line ahead of the movie’s release fuels the enthusiasm for ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy.’ This gives fans a chance to create their own Tune Squad versus Goon Squad action play and lets them get familiar with this cast of characters,” said Joe Smith, senior director of global marketing, licensed brands, Moose Toys.

“The Goon Squad toys bring their onscreen counterparts to life in vivid detail. The action figures show off their intimidating appearance and each one’s special ability in ‘wicked’ detail. Taking on the Goon Squad is a stacked Tune Squad full of fan favorites. Space Jam: A New Legacy features basketball star LeBron James alongside Looney Tunes’ greatest characters of all time, led by Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny.

The extensive line of Space Jam: A New Legacy toys includes action figures, play-sets, collectibles, plush characters and more, including Goo Heroes, which are inspired by Moose Toys’ Heroes of Goo Jit Zu.

It also includes the Super Shoot and Dunk LeBron James featuring a high-flying action figure that jumps, dunks and hangs-on-the-rim, just like LeBron’s character in the film.

LEGO marks 20 years of LEGO Harry Potter with new sets exploring the magic of the Wizarding World

Marking 20 years of the LEGO Harry Potter franchise, the Danish toy maker has rebooted its partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to reveal a new range of building sets that delve deeper into the magic of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The enchanted walls of Hogwarts will set the scene for many of the new sets, however, LEGO is giving fans the chance to spread their wings and explore the wizarding world with the likes of Dumbledore’s Phoenix, Fawkes, or the snow-capped streets of Hogsmeade Village.

Many of the sets will also interconnect, allowing fans to extend the play into different areas of Hogwarts.

A number of the new sets will also come with an exclusive golden minifigure to mark the 20th Anniversary of LEGO Harry Potter. These collectibles mark just some of the characters that have helped fans play out some of the franchise’s most memorable moments across two decades of LEGO Harry Potter.

The new sets will be available from LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and selected retailers from June 1st this year and more widely from August 1st. A selection of the sets will also be available to pre-order from April 16th at LEGO.com and other retailers globally.

The new line-up will include:

  • LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake. Builders can join Harry, Ron and Hermione as they brew the powerful Polyjuice potion in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom and transform as they gulp the potion. Don’t forget to explore the hidden tunnel beneath the sink.
  • LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts: Fluffy Encounter. Young witches and wizards can try their luck at sneaking past the giant, three-headed dog, and reaching the trapdoor before Fluffy wakes.

Warner Bros. teams with Toybox to let fans 3D print their own licensed toys at home

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has partnered with Toybox, a company specialised in 3D printers that allow fans to create their own toys at home, to enable audiences to print characters from across the Warner Bros. portfolio.

Marked by many as a major step forward in the ongoing development and evolution of the 3D printing space and its implications for the future of the toy industry, the new partnership will allow Toybox fans the chance to print items based on DC, Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes, Friends, even Seinfeld.

The deal also extends to classic films under the Warner Bros. banner, such as Polar Express and Elf.

Customers will be able to buy a range of toys starting with DC’s Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman by purchasing Toybox Bolts, an online currency unique to the Toybox platform. This is a first of its kind licensing agreement with a major studio that allows customers to print their toys at home.

Toys available to print at launch will be Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman action figures with nine points of articulation, Batarangs, Batman’s Batcave computer, Batmobile, Batman disc launcher, Bat-Signal, Justice League disc launchers, Daily Planet building; with additional items to follow.

Warner Bros partners with Imagine Exhibitions for new touring Harry Potter: The Exhibition

A new Wizarding World exhibition is now under development and is scheduled to make its worldwide debut in 2022.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has lined up a partnership with Imagine Exhibitions to a create an innovative new Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts exhibition, slated to begin touring across multiple regions, including in North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific Region, and Europe, as well as the Middle East and Africa from next year.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition will be a scalable experience for fans, covering between 10,000 and 20,000 square feet. It will celebrate the most iconic moments from the films and stories through an immersive, behind the scenes exhibition experience, while presenting crafted environments that honour the characters, settings, and beasts seen in the films.

“We are honored to be entrusted with the iconic Harry Potter brand and excited to develop and share an exhibition experience that celebrates the magic of the Wizarding World,” said Tom Zaller, CEO of Imagine Exhibitions. “We look forward to working with world-class partners, promoters, and sponsors to bring an all-new Harry Potter: The Exhibition to fans around the globe.”

The initial venue for the new Harry Potter: The Exhibition will be announced in the coming months.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products appoints Samantha Bushy as VP of North America and head of eCommerce

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has appointed the eCommerce veteran, Samantha Bushy to the role of vice president of North America and head of eCommerce.

The move comes as Pam Lifford, president of Warner Bros. Global Brands and Experiences details the company’s strategic vision of strengthening its direct to consumer and commerce abilities. Through the appointment of Bushy, the firm will “leverage her vast experience” and the insight, expertise, and leadership that she brings with her to the role.

Bushy will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, growth, and development, consumer and category strategy, and retail and licensee relationship management for WB’s Consumer Products unit in the US and Canada. In addition, she will be the lead executive on e-commerce initiatives globally.

Before joining Warner Bros. Bushy was head of eCommerce, global marketplaces with Apple Inc where she was responsible for driving eCommerce business strategy and establishing differentiated customer experience for its global marketplace business on Amazon.

Bushy has also worked in global business planning and strategy roles at Nike, Pacific Gas and Electric, as well as managed client services and corporate sponsorships for the New England Patriots.

Bushy’s appointment is effective immediately.

This ISlides and Warner deals allows horror fans to walk in the shoes of their favourite movie monsters

Horror fans can now take a walk in the shoes of some of their favourite movie monsters, from A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Kruger to The Shining’s Danny Torance, thanks to a new partnership between Warner Bros Consumer Products and the customised slide sandal company, ISlide.

The new partnership will see ISlide create new footwear ranges inspired by over 100 blockbuster franchises, including The Shining, Friday the 13th, and The Exorcist. The deal also spans DC favourites, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

“Warner Bros. has created some of the most iconic movies to date and we’re excited to be able to bring a new take on the characters through our slides,” said Justin Kitterdge, president and CEO of ISlide. “Whether you’re a fan of Batman or Friday the 13th, we’ll have a new slide for anyone who loves these properties as much as we do.”

The Friday the 13th collection includes a handful of detailed custom Jason designs using Black and Red accents. The collection also includes variations of the extremely popular “Friday the 13th” wordmark.

The Exorcist collection includes unique custom designs that feature an all white iteration of the movie logo, the notorious Regan script wordmark, and an insanely detailed live shot from the movie itself.

The Shining Collection includes four unique designs with black and white colorways featuring variations of the Shining Logo and Danny Torance portraits.

Meanwhile, in the DC collection, the Batman range features over 10 custom designs on a variety of ISlide colors, including the highly sought after black/yellow speckle. In addition to the Bat Emblem and other iconic comic images, the collection includes the popular The Joker.

The Superman collection includes custom designs utilizing ISlide’s red and royal sandal colorways. With designs ranging from Superman’s S-Shield to Metropolis logos, this collection is by far the most colorful.
