Former Team GB international swimmer Angela Wilson has launched a new children’s swimming programme in partnership with CHF Media.
Wilson teamed with CHF Media – the firm behind Daisy & Ollie and Pip Ahoy!) to introduce Swimstylers, a programme for kids’ aged four months to 12 years with the aim of ‘revolutionising swimming in the UK.’
As part of the campaign, Wilson has launched 14 swimschool franchises in locations across the UK, including Kent, London, Essex, East Essex, Surrey and Hampshire. The launch was held a London’s BAFTA Club on Friday, June 8.
The Swimstylers programme aims to teach children to swim with the correct technique while teaching them valuable life skills to improve their physical and emotional well-being. Swimstylers features five animated child characters which help to structure the five-staged programme.
It’s a concept that was developed by Wilson 12 months ago. It followed Swim England’s July 2017 survey revelation that one in three children cannot swim when leaving primary school and that only 36 per cent of schools currently provide effective lessons that reach national curriculum standards.
Having been teaching swimming since 2002, Wilson worked closely with CHF Media to develop a series of inspirational characters. Each character has been developed to inspire and motivate all young swimmers and bring to life her unique method of teaching.
Wilson said: “Swimming for me is not only a life-saving skill but a life enhancing one. Everyone can benefit from being able to swim properly and it’s hugely concerning to hear frightening statistics that show so many of our children don’t have this essential life skill.
“Swimstylers is about making swimming engaging and a priority to us all. We are completely delighted with the response to the characters we have created so far and have high hopes that it will make a big difference nationwide.”

“Typically existing badge based programmes reward with stages such as starfish, dolphin, shark etc but the characters in Swimstylers genuinely reflect the journey as the children progress within the water.
“Our award winning creative team worked closely with Angela and we are excited to be revealing something truly fresh and modern to help create strong and healthy swimmers of the future.”
The Swimstylers brand will be rolled out to all of Wilson’s existing swim schools and franchises and could be made available to be used in schools nationwide to primary and swimming schools across the UK.
