The Fred Rogers Company appoints new production member

The Fred Rogers Company has boosted its production team with the addition of Ellen Doherty.

Doherty has been named as executive in charge of production and will work with Paul Siefken, VP of broadcast and digital media.

In her new role, Doherty will oversee development of the company’s educational children’s media offerings, including Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood, Peg + Cat and Odd Squad for PBS Kids.

Siefken said: “We are delighted to welcome Ellen Doherty to our ‘neighborhood’. Ellen brings to the table her extensive experience and innovative approach to creating and producing high-quality content that engages kids while helping them learn and grow.

“We are excited about working together to support the needs of kids and families, both through our current series and those to come.”

Doherty will also provide content and strategic support for the firm’s licensing and merchandising efforts.

Prior to her new role, Doherty worked as associate produce for PBS Kids, and produced two specials for Discovery International, as well as an educational video series on media literacy for Harcourt.
