The Jim Henson Company secures raft of international broadcast, DVD and digital deals

The Jim Henson Company has secured a raft of new international broadcast, home entertainment and digital licensing agreements across Asia Pacific, Europe and Canada for its portfolio of family and fantasy series and feature films. 

The Company has agreed a multi-episode broadcast agreement with TVB in Hong Kong for two new children’s preschool series, Doozers and Pajanimals, as well as the second season of the award-winning Sid The Science Kid. 

The company has licensed home video and digital broadcast rights for Pajanimals to PCCW in Hong Kong.

“Our new CG-animated series Doozers has fueled interest in the classic Fraggle Rock series which, even as it celebrates its 30th anniversary, continues to delight viewers of all ages, proving once again that The Jim Henson Company’s programming is timeless and has tremendous appeal for audiences around the globe.”

Elsewhere, in Australia, Beyond has secured digital and home video rights for Doozers; while Regency Media/Shock has acquired the digital and home video rights for The Wubbulous World Of Dr. Seuss.

In Europe, Germany’s Filmverlag has picked up digital and home video rights for sci-fi series Farscape while in Finland, Nelonen has secured broadcast rights for the Fraggle Rock series and big screen adventure Labyrinth.

Finally, in Canada, educational television service TVO has acquired season three of Dinosaur Train, privately owned French language network TVA has acquired broadcast rights to Pajanimals and Labyrinth while public broadcaster Knowledge has also secured rights for Pajanimals.
