The People Awards – How it works


Retail Buying Team of the Year

This award will be given to the retail buying team which has demonstrated a strong commitment to licensed products over the past year, with judges in particular looking at range, merchandising design and layout, promotional activity and innovation.

Rising Star – Licensee

This award will be presented to any individual aged 30 or under who has demonstrated that he or she is a Rising Star within a licensee, from any area of the industry.

Rising Star – Licensor

This award will be presented to any individual aged 30 or under who has demonstrated that he or she is a Rising Star within a licensor.

Unsung Hero

R&D department, design agencies, loyalty programme teams and others are often forgotten – yet are a vital cog in the licensing machine. This award will be given to the team which has been a stand-out over-achiever during the past year.

Licensing Agent of the Year

Literally the middle men (and women) of the business, the Licensing.Biz People Awards will recognise the individual or team which has had enjoyed an outstanding year.

Brand Extension & Beyond

Star Trek Lager, anyone? This accolade will reward the team behind the more quirky licence tie-ups of the past year.

Licensee Team of the Year

Does what it says on the tin: we’re celebrating the licensee team which has demonstrated the most innovation and business nous over the past 12 months.

Licensor Team of the Year

Similarly, the People Awards will put the spotlight on the licensor which has achieved a stellar past year.

Licensing Deal of the Year

We know the biggest licences of the past year. This award will celebrate the teams behind those deals.

Outstanding Contribution to Licensing

Awarded to the individual whose peers judge him/her to have done more for the UK licensing business over the past 12 months than any other. This award can be picked up by any individual working in any sector of licensing.

The team will compile a list of Finalists, which will be announced on Monday March 9th. Then a panel of over 100 judges from across the industry will be asked to vote for the winners in each category.

The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony on Thursday April 30th at a swanky Central London venue.
