The Light Fund raises £12k through Northern event success

Industry charity, The Light Fund has raised a further £12,000 thanks to its Northern Light Fund Patrick’s Day Fun Night.

The sum total raised on the night now takes the charity organisation one step closer to hitting its target of £1 million this year.

The event – that took place in Manchester’s Bierkeller on March 17th this year – saw 200 licensors, licensees and retailers enjoy a night of networking and a special race night and raffle.

Organised by The Light Fund’s Northern Committee including GB Eye, Roy Lowe & Sons, Aykroyds & Sons, Dreamtex and William Lamb representatives, the Irish-themed night marked a break from the group’s usual quiz evening.

“It was a great success, both in terms of content and fund raising,” said Trevor Jones, chairman of The Light Fund.

“Everyone had a great time, the races worked well (although I am still confused about the pigs) and an amazing amount of money was raised for The Light Fund.”
