The Light Fund raises record £150,000 this year

Industry charity The Light Fund will be funding projects with 30 different charities, thanks to the £150,000 raised this year.

The grand sum, which was raised through activities undertaken through the licensing industry, including the Southern and Northern Light Fund Quiz Nights and the Summer Pub Treasure Hunt, will be used to fund new projects.

For example, these include The Children’s Trust, where £5,000 will fund a part time Health Play Specialist for six months.

David Scott, treasurer of The Light Fund and MD of Rainbow Productions, said: "Thanks to an outstanding effort from the licensing community, The Light Fund has raised a record amount this year, meaning we are able to fund more charity projects than ever before.

“Next year will be a significant one for The Light Fund as we aim to reach our £1 million fundraising milestone."

In addition, other beneficiaries include Challenge Africa, the Orchid Cancer Appeal, The Brain Tumour Charity, Whizz-Kidz, Medical Detection Dogs and CCHF All About Kids.
