The Original Stormtrooper is marching on the grocery aisles of the UK’s biggest retailers, thanks to an army of new partnerships and launches for Shepperton Design Studio’s IP courtesy of Golden Goose.

Leading the line up is the Original Stormtrooper celebration cake from BBF, launching in Asda on October 14 this year. Billed as perfect for parties of all ages, the design is as faithful a recreation of the Original Stormtrooper helmet as can be made in icing and sponge.

Meanwhile, and to help invigorate the celebrations, the party trooper can wash down their cake with new Original Stormtrooper Galactic Pale Ale or perhaps Lightspeed Pilsner, carefully brewed by Suffolk based St. Peter’s Brewery using, of course, Galaxy and Millennium hops.

These brews will first be available in gift-pack featuring a 500ml bottle and an Original Stormtrooper pint glass from Blue Tree available in over 1,000 stores from the end of September including Tesco stores and B&M. Bottled pale ale and lager will also be premiered on Firebox and further listings are expected in the off and on-trade, adding to the range of Original Stormtrooper consumables that already include gin from Thumbs Up and chocolate from Kinnerton.

Adam Bass of Golden Goose, said: “These fun, ironic, playful products deliver consumers the authenticity and eccentricity that they expect from the Original Stormtrooper. Since launching the programme in 2015 we have built a strong platform for success for all the Shepperton Design Studios licensees.”

Delighted by the success of the programme, Andrew Ainsworth of Shepperton Design Studios, added: “Golden Goose continue to deliver licensed items that consumers are excited to buy. We are delighted to see these new products achieve such widespread distribution and can’t wait to taste them.”
