The Point 1888 to develop licensing push for Stinking Bishop cheese

Stinking Bishop, the award winning British cheese, has signed a licensing deal with The Point 1888 to extend the reach of the brand through new partnerships and collaborations.

The Point 1888 will be seeking premium brand partnerships to work alongside Stinking Bishop which reflect the cheese’s values of ‘quality, provenance and tradition’.

“Stinking Bishop is a recognised and unique name in the British Cheese industry and we have been considering for some time how best to take it to new customers," said Charles Martell, Stinking Bishop founder and cheesemaker.

"At the recent Abergavenny Food Festival a number of fans were even taking pictures of the Stinking Bishop logo – so we feel our strong and unique brand offers good opportunities for future partnerships. We were impressed with what The Point has achieved with ambitious British brands for whom provenance is core and are looking forward to working with Will and the team over the coming months.”

Will Stewart, managing director at The Point 1888, added: “We are delighted to be working with Charles Martell to develop the Stinking Bishop brand.

"Retailers are very keen to support such a unique brand with such an amazing story and we look forward to finding like-minded manufacturers to expand the reach of the Stinking Bishop brand”.
