The Point.1888 is continuing to grow, having appointed two new hires to specially created roles within the ever-expanding team.
The firm’s rapid growth over the past 18 months has fuelled several rounds of expansion at the brand licensing specialist that has seen The Point.1888 welcome a raft of licensing veterans and graduates to the team. Most recently, the firm has now appointed Saul Segalov to the role of commercial executive, and Lynne Chappel to the position of contracts manager.
Segalov, who will be responsible for supporting The Point.1888’s brand managers day to day, joined earlier this month, having been attracted to the agency’s approach and mission to help develop brands with purpose.
Commenting on his new role, he said: “Licensing is something I have grown up with as my family has been in the industry for many years. I was lucky enough to attend my first BLE just weeks ago and saw lots of potential new brands, exciting licensees and new contacts for our existing brands.
“I can’t wait to see them unravel from start through to completion- what can be better than seeing some product sitting on a retailer’s shelf that you have been working on right from the off?”
Meanwhile, in her role as contracts manager, Chappel has been tasked with supporting the team in completing all legal documents to move client agreements forward more quickly. She is no stranger to the licensing industry either, having set up a brand licensing group in the US and led licensing programmes for the Campbell Soup Company and Playboy Enterprises.
She commented: “Licensing friends had talked about The Point.1888 and what a great company it is so I reached out to them. As luck would have it, they were looking for someone with my skillset and experience and I love the creative, high energy and collaborative culture here already. It’s amazing to be working with such a strong team of people.”
Will Stewart, managing director of The Point.1888, said: “Business opportunities for The Point.1888 are coming in thick and fast and I need the strongest team of people around me to ensure we maintain our high standard of work. Saul and Lynne have already fitted into the team so well.”
