The Pokémon Company collaborates with The Entertainer to celebrate 20th anniversary

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Pokémon, and The Entertainer has teamed with the brand to deliver a retail promotion as part of the celebrations.

Fans who visit the toy retailer will be able to pick up a special Collector’s Album free of charge, where they will be able to showcase Pokémon trading cards, including the expansion game XY-Breakpoint.

The Entertainer will also install branded Pokémon window displays, as well as point-of-sale materials, including hanging Pikachu characters.

Plus, master toy partner TOMY will run a 25 per cent discount on its toy range in stores.

Mathieu Galante, senior market development manager at The Pokémon Company International, said: “With sales for the Trading Card Game continuing to soar, this is a very exciting time for Pokémon as we celebrate 20 years of the brand with 12 months of celebrations, events and activity.

“The Entertainer is a great partner for us, and we are delighted to be working with them on this special promotion for Pokémon fans and continuing our partnership on through into 2016.”

In addition, Trading Card Games sampling packs will also be placed in around 250,000 copies of children’s publications, including Toxic, Kick, Kraze and National Geographic.

To mark the occasion, the company is also teaming up with GAME, where players will be able to pick up the Mythical Pokémon Mew in a special distribution deal.
