Special Family Guy episode featuring guest voices from The Simpsons will air in next year.

The Simpsons meet Family Guy for special episode

Family Guy is set to officially team up with The Simpsons in a special Family Guy episode, airing on Fox in 2014.

The episode will see the Griffins travel to Springfield to meet the yellow characters, ending a friendly feud between America’s most notorious families.

The special episode will feature the guest voices of The Simpsons’ Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria.

Fox is teasing fans of the animations, revealing that the episode will observe the two families come together to ‘get along famously’.

Stewie and Bart will embark on a series of pranks, Lisa parters with Meg, Marge and Lois take time for some bonding, while Peter and Homer fight over who has the best beer.

"Fox hasn’t spent this much money since they took Simon Cowell tight T-shirt shopping," said Family Guy’s Peter Griffin.

"Finally I can get my hands on this guy," added Homer Simpson.

The two shows have been engaged in friendly rivalry, seeing both feature each other’s characters for friendly jibes. Peter Griffin made an appearance in The Simpsons, featuring on Italian police’s wanted posters.
