Sanrio has detailed its plans to launch a Hello Kitty popup concept store in London’s Tombo Fitzrovia.
Known for its modern Japanese cuisine, London café Tombo Fitzrovia opened its doors in July 2017, following the success of Tombo South Kensington and Soho.
Under the café’s new partnership with Sanrio, Hello Kitty inspired items will fill the menu including Hello Kitty special poké bowls, Hello Kitty ice cream sundaes, cupcakes and more. Customers will be able to enjoy Matcha tea in exclusive Hello Kitty designed sets.
Hello Kitty matcha tins, matcha latte mix as well as a range of merchandise such as tote bags, postcards and posters will all be on sale.
‘As lovers of all things from Japan, Hello Kitty makes the perfect partner for Tombo,’ read a statement from a press release.
‘Since she was born in 1974, Hello Kitty has become a global phenomenon spawning a range of merchandise, cafes and even her own aeroplane.
‘Tombo’s Hello Kitty pop up this September is the best way for Londoners to sample a slice of Japanese culture without having to hop on a plane.’
