Licensing industry veteran, Tim Collins has joined the CHF Media Group’s board as a non-executive director as the independent children’s media company looks to expand into new areas.
Collins is behind The Brand Director, a consultancy that specialises in IP development for a range of sectors, including within children’s media. For the past few years, Collins has been advising companies in the CHF Media Fund on options for IP development.
“As a result of his accomplishments to date it was a logical move to appoint him to the board,” explained Adrian Wilkins, CEO of the CHF Media Group.
Prior to establishing The Brand Director, Collins held senior roles at firms including Universal, DreamWorks, HIT, Endemol and DC Thomson.
The CHF Media Group has recently been restructured to simplify the business and will focus on developing and funding new kids’ projects, as well as being open to international co-productions and a wider range of partnerships. Collins will be at the Children’s Media Conference in July pitching a number of shows in the CHF Media stable.
Wilkins added: “The Board is delighted to welcome Tim to the Company. With his range of experience in developing and managing IP, he is going to be essential to our future plans as we ramp up development and launch new kids shows.”
Collins added: “I met Adrian at a prior CMC event and was very impressed with his approach and felt that there is a real opportunity to combine the fundraising skills with a strong development brief to become a much larger player in the kids TV market-place.”
