Tokidoki lands first TV series for its Mermicornos with Atomic Cartoons

The international lifestyle brand, Tokidoki has secured a development deal with Atomic Cartoons to develop an animated TV series starring its own Mermicornos characters.

This new collaboration is the latest in a line of high-profile partnerships between the Tokidoki brand and the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Charles Schulz, Marvel and Major League Baseball.

The new animated series will be penned by none other than Shea Fontana, the brains behind a number of hit animations such as the DC Super Hero Girls animated shorts, TV specials, movies and graphic novels.

Matthew Berkowitz and Jennifer Twiner McCarron will executive produce for Atomic Cartoons while Tokidoki co-founders Simone Legno and Pooneh Mohajera will executive produce the series.

It will follow a team of Mermicornos as they set out to stop an evil force determined to take over their world. The animated series will be centred on exploration, discovery and self-belief.

Introduced as part of Tokidoki’s Unicorno Series 4 at San Diego Comic Con 2015, the Mermicorno family now includes three series of Mermicorno collectable figures, as well as Mermicorno themed plush toys, bags, apparel and novelty items available in more than 20,000 stores worldwide.

This announcement is yet another high profile deal for Atomic Cartoons who is currently developing The Last Kids on Earth for Netflix. In 2018, the firm partnered with Drew Barrymore and Savannah Guthrie to develop Guthrie’s New York Times bestseller, Princesses Wear Pants.
