Toy firms ready San Diego Comic Con

Top toy firms including Hasbro and LEGO are readying for the biggest event in the geek calendar, San Diego Comic Con, with a strong focus on movies and multimedia content. 

Hasbro will be showcasing its wide portfolio of blockbuster brands including new reveals for Transformers, My Little Pony, Hanazuki, G.I. Joe, Dropmix and Wizards of the Coast. There will also be major reveals for the firm’s premier partner brands including Disney’s Tangled The Series, Descendant 2, Star Wars and Marvel.

My Little Pony fans can expect to see a dazzling eight-foot tall statue of Songbird Serenade from the upcoming ‘My Little Pony: The Movie’ and get “Ponified” at the Hasbro booth at special “Ponification Stations” where make-up artists apply Cutie Marks and “ponified” hair and nails for fans to show off at the show. There will also be th reveal of an never before seen poster for the upcoming film.

Meanwhile, LEGO are planning star-studded activities around their upcoming LEGO Ninjago Movie. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Animation Group, the company will host celebrity appearances, hands-on building fun, and showcase new building sets that will bring the film’s characters and story to life. Attendees can also catch a glimpse of never-before-seen life-sized LEGO models, first looks at 2018 products, one-of-a-kind LEGO minifigure giveaways, exclusive retail offerings, and more at booth #2829 in Hall D of the San Diego Convention Center from Thursday to Sunday, July 20-23.
