Transport for London, working with the London Transport Museum, is looking to appoint a licensing agency or group of agencies this autumn.
The agent will be tasked with developing and expanding TfL’s licensing activity, with a particular emphasis on the overseas market.
With over 90 current partners, TfL has a well established programme focused on the UK market, and while there are sales and developments outside the UK, these are not significant.
The firm therefore believes a great opportunity exists for the right agent/agencies to expand and develop current and new activities in key overseas markets.
‘This offers what can only be described as a fantastic opportunity, to work with an iconic brand that has strong associations to London and is often thought of as London’s brand, one that is often included in lists of the top ten best known or designed brands in the world,’ read a statement from TfL.
‘It is a story of how it helped shape, develop and mould modern London as a dynamic and world leading city; a centre of art, design and fashion, attributes closely associated with the brand values held within the fabric of the Underground mark.’
TfL is now seeking to engage with the licensing market to answer a few questions that will help develop and inform the direction of the proposed tender, with agencies invited to respond.
