Transport for London has teamed up with the new smart card holder brand, Chummi for a new range of branded card protectors featuring designs and prints from TfL’s current style guide.
Chummi, billed as a clever way to keep your Oyster card, Freedom Pass, Zip Card or contactless bank card safe and accessible, has been developed, designed and trademarked by a team led by Henry Becket of Ideas at Work, and a patent is in the pipeline.
According to the firm, Chummi is already selling well online, including on Amazon Prime, while further retail opportunities are currently being explored, as well as overseas opportunities for touch card usage.
“Chummi works with all contactless bank cards or smartcards, but was originally devised for use on London Underground and buses, where so many people fumble for their tickets at the barrier,” said the company via a press release.
“Cool new designs to accompany the six existing ones are being developed in partnership with TfL, who have an amazing portfolio of more than 100 years of London Transport graphics – including some of the world’s best-known design icons.”
Chummi envisaged picking up a slate of further licensing agreements as the brand grows here in the UK.
