Tree Fu Tom celebrates Christmas at Downing Street

Popular pre-school character Tree Fu Tom took time out to attend a special Christmas party at No 11 Downing Street this week at an event held for kids with serious and terminal illnesses.

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne and the Starlight Children’s Foundation invited popular children’s characters, celebrities and 50 children to a tea party in the state rooms.

Father Christmas made an appearance to jot down the children’s wish lists, while Tree Fu Tom and a host of celebrities including Rupert Grint, Geri Halliwell and Frank Lampard attended to join in the festive fun.

The children were sent home with goodie bags featuring Tree Fu tom DVDs donated by FremantleMedia Home Entertainment and Tree Fu Tom books by Random House Children’s publishing.

Neil Swan, chief executive of Starlight Children’s Foundation said: "Starlight’s Children’s Christmas Party at No 11 Downing Street is one of the highlights of the charity’s annual hospital entertainment programme and it was a delight to have Tree Fu Tom at the event.

"He was a huge hit with all our young guests and we are grateful to him for giving up his time to help entertain these very poorly children.”
