DHX Media has signed a string of broadcast deals for the hit pre-school series across France, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Israel and Canada.

Hit pre-school series Twirlywoos is going global as DHX Media signs a string of new broadcast deals.

The kids’ content firm has struck a major new deal in France with Lagardere for it Gulli and Tiji channels, while the CBeebies commissioned show has also been acquired by YLE in Finland and SVT in Sweden.

Meanwhile, NRK in Norway, Hop! In Israel and DHX’s own Family Jr. in Canada will all broadcast the hit show.

Twirlywoos combines stop frame animation and live-action sequences set in the real world.

“Twirlywoos is an inspired and carefully crafted series, which really stands out in the pre-school market,” said Josh Scherba, SVP distribution at DHX Media.

“With its universal themes and strong visual identity, it has excellent appeal, so it’s no surprise that international broadcasters are fast coming on board.”

The CBeebies series is produced in association with DHX Media, which handles global distribution, .merchandising, brand management and marketing.
