Ubisoft dates Assassin’s Creed movie

The big screen adaptation of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed video game series will hit cinemas on December 21st, 2016.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that production has started on the film, with Michael Fassbender set to star as Desmond Miles.

Empire states that the film will likely use Assassin’s Creed II’s Italian renaissance time period and setting.

The game series sees Miles travelling through history when he’s asked to relive his ancestor’s experiences thanks to some cutting-edge DNA technology.
