Studio also pushes World of Warcraft movie back to avoid Star Wars clash

Universal dates The Mummy reboot

Universal has revealed a string of release dates for upcoming titles, including when its reboot of The Mummy will land in cinemas.

The Mummy, a Universal property which has enjoyed a life on the big screen in the 1932 Boris Karloff movie as well as the rebooted 1999 series, will hit cinemas on April 16th, 2016.

The film has Mama director Andy Muschietti behind the camera with a screenplay from Prometheus’ Jon Spaihts.

Elsewhere, the studio has also pushed back its big screen adaptation of video game series World of Warcraft.

The film, titled Warcraft, was originally set to debut on December 18th, 2015, but will now land in March 11th, 2016.

The move looks to have been made to avoid a clash with Star Wars: Episode VII which would have arrived in cinemas on the same day.
