The mythical hometown of The Simpsons is heading to Hollywood treating fans to iconic locations from the show.

Universal Studios Hollywood welcomes new Springfield attraction

Universal Studios Hollywood is gearing up to unveil a new Springfield neighbourhood, inspired by The Simpsons.

The city block-sized attraction will feature a host of Springfield landmarks, including Mr Burns’ Nuclear Power Plant and Moe’s Tavern.

Fans of the show will also be able to visit Stu’s Disco, Springfield Police Station and Burns Manor.

The new build will mark the second attraction of its kind to open in the US, the first of which opened at the Universal Studios’ Orlando location in 2013.

Boasting a total of nine eateries, Springfield’s arrival in Universal Hollywood is among a slate of upgrades undertaken by the theme park over a span of five years that commenced in 2012 with the opening of its 3D Transformers ride, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The Simpsons executive producer, Al Jean worked closely with the Universal Studios team to create the new attraction.

“It’s hard for me to be objective,” he said. “But if you are a fan of The Simpsons, you will feel like you are in their world.”
