Parragon to work with stationery designer to launch books and journals in multiple markets.

US: Bonnie Marcus Collection expands into books

Parragon is to move stationery designer Bonnie Marcus into the publishing sector.

The two will work together on a lifestyle publishing programme which will extend the illustrations and designs of the Bonnie Marcus Collection into books and content-driven stationery products for the first time.

Beginning in the autumn, Parragon will develop and publish a wide range of titles for tweens, teens and adults. Items will include illustrated pocket puzzle books, notebooks, food journals, fashion journals and cook books.

All lines will be available in North America, the UK and Australia, before rolling out across Europe and Latin America.

"For the past ten years, my stylish stationery collection has revolved around our tag line, ‘where fashion meets papers’," said Bonnie Marcus, president. "This exciting new collection of lifestyle publications is a natural extension of our brand, and I am looking forward to working with Parragon to launch our new collection around the world."

Wendy Friedman, president of Parragon North and South America, added: "I first met with Bonnie at Stationery Show in 2012 and immediately knew that her designs and approach to product was perfect for an extension into books. 12 months later, I’m delighted to be exhibiting our first products."
