US: Immersive Star Trek exhibition from CBS Consumer Products to hit the road for 2019

An immersive Star Trek exhibition featuring more than 100 artefacts, set pieces and props from the sci-fi TV series is heading on a road trip across the US.

CBS Consumer Products and the Museum of Pop Culture are sending the exhibition on the road with the debut of Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis next February.

Exhibition highlights will include set pieces from the original series including Captain Kirk’s command chair and the navigation console as well as more than 100 props and artefacts from all six Star Trek television series and many of the films.

Key artefacts will include original series tricorder, communicator and phaser, a Borg cube, Klingon disruptor pistol, tribbles and more.

Rare costumes including Spock’s tunic worn by Leonard Nimoy and Lt Uhura’s dress will also feature, alongside Captain Picard’s costume, a Borg costume and more.

Spaceship filming models of the Enterprise, USS Excelsior, Romulan Warbird, Klingon Cruiser and Deep Space Nine space station will make up the collection s well as a showcase of Star Trek’s impact on culture, society, arts, sports, technology and fashion.
