Smithsonian has revealed a host of new US licensing deals across drinkware, giftware and fine china, apparel and art sets.
A deal with Tervis reveals a new line in insulated drinkware, featuring deigns inspired by Smithsonian’s collections of American heritage icons and natural wonders of the Earth.
The line of 15 designs includes images of the Space Shuttle Discovery from Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, advertisements featuring Rosie the Riveter from Smithsonian’s American History Museum and orchids from Smithsonian Garden’s rare orchid collection.
The line also features designs of endangered animals from Smithsonian’s National Zoo.
The line is available on tervis.com and through retailers nationwide.
Partnering with one of America’s oldest fine china companies, Pickard China, Smithsonian will develop a range of museum inspired giftware and fine china.
A new licence with The Mountain will see the production of a range of Smithsonian-collection inspired graphic T-shirts.
Finally, the brand has signed with Plaid to produce a collection of paint-by-number sets based on memorabilia from the National Air and Space Museum, alongside Needlework kits based on samplers from Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
Initial products will roll out this autumn.
