Van Gogh Museum to bring the Meet Vincent van Gogh Experience to London in 2020

Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum is bringing an immersive journey through the artist’s life to London next year, when the Meet Vincent van Gogh Experience lands at the South Bank in February 2020.

It will mark the latest leg of a world tour that has so far seen the experience entertain and educate culture-lovers across Beijing, Barcelona, and Seoul.

The exhibition has been described as ‘an example of the cutting-edge experiential content being developed by the Museum.’

As London audiences await the arrival of the exhibition, already excitement is building around just what it has to offer, including interactive elements, and audio walk through and a moment of dialogue in which van Gogh speaks directly to visitors and takes them on a journey of his life and work.

“2019 has been an outstanding year for Meet Vincent van Gogh and Van Gogh Museum experiential content,” he said. “From Barcelona to Seoul, the Experience has achieved precisely what the van Gogh Museum intended it to. It is enriching and inspiring people around the world,” said Arnold van de Water, general manager of the Meet Vincent van Gogh Experience in a piece with Blooloop.

“With this momentum behind us, we are excited to maximise our impact in London and Lisbon with exceptional venues and highly-experienced partners.”

The experiential exhibition is a co-production between Golden Tours and ProActiv: Live Entertainment.

Mikesh Palan, managing director of Golden Tours, said: “Meet Vincent van Gogh is the ideal addition to London’s arts and cultural attractions scene.

“As an official Van Gogh Museum experience, it brings with it not only the prestige of the Museum, but also a strong understanding of how to attract a diverse audience. This, combined with Golden Tours’ long-standing expertise in London attractions and events, makes for a very successful collaboration.”
