Just Play and Penguin have signed as major new licensing partners for the second season of FremantleMedia’s hit kids’ show Kate & Mim-Mim.
The US-based company Just Play is now on board as the master toy partner for the second season of the show and will deliver a collection of plush, dolls, figure packs and role-play products.
The initial launch of the product is scheduled in North America and the UK for spring next year, and will be followed by a wider international roll out in line with the second series.
Meanwhile, Penguin Young Readers has signed as the North American publishing partner for the children’s brand, with an initial line of storybooks, leveled readers, e-books and more launching in autumn 2016.
Aimed at two to five year olds, Kate & Mim-Mim follows the adventures of Kate and her toy rabbit Mim-Mim as they travel the fantasy world of Mimiloo.
Series two of the popular animated show is due to launch on Disney Junior US and will then air globally in late 2015. The series is currently in pre-production and will include two themed seasonal specials.
“We are delighted to be collaborating with Just Play and Penguin Young readers on Kate & Mim-Mim,” said Andrea Brent, vice president of licensing and merchandising at Fremantle North America.
“They are the perfect partners to help translate this fantastically imaginative and highly toyetic series into a range of creative toys and books that will engage and entertain young fans across the globe.”
