VEGAS 2015: Tottenham Hotspur looks to build on US fanbase

Tottenham Hotspur FC is returning to Licensing Expo for the third time this year, as it looks to continue to growth of its North American fanbase.

The London-based club currently has over 40 Official Supporters Clubs in the region, more than any other English Premier League team. It includes US Men’s National Team’s Young Player of the Year, DeAndre Yedlin, among its players.

Following a successful tour of the US and Canada in summer 2014, Spurs will take part in the prestigious MLS All-Star match in Denver, Colorado on July 29th, taking on the best players from the US professional league.

The club also continues to make a significant commitment to grassroots soccer in the region, launching youth partner clubs in Tallahassee, Florida and El Cerrito, California.

During the past year, Tottenham Hotspur has appointed Fermata Partners to source and manage its licensing deals in the US.

"We are pleased with the growth of our global licensing portfolio, having signed multiple deals in the last three years across territories including USA, China, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East, as well as our traditional UK market, and are constantly looking to take the brand into new and exciting areas of retail," said Gary Jacobson, brand licensing manager at Tottenham Hotspur.

"We expect our global licensing programme to continue its rapid growth in coming months, with a key focus in North America.

"Our involvement at events such as the Licensing Expo 2015 highlights the importance Tottenham Hotspur is placing on the area of international licensing and meeting an increased demand for Club product in key territories."
