Viacom confirms new SpongeBob movie is on the way

Cyma Zarghami, president of Viacom’s Nickelodeon Group, has revealed that a new SpongeBob movie will be on the way in the future.

Zarghami made a guest appearance during the company’s quarterly earnings conference call, where members of the firm discussed the success of Nickelodeon, which is its biggest business.

During the call she said: “There will definitely be another SpongeBob movie,” reports The Hollywood Reporter.

She also detailed plans to launch a new animated series for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, while highlighting Paw Patrol as Viacom’s number one pre-school property.

Film projects inspired by Henry Danger and The Loud House are also set to roll out in the future.

Fan attractions and theme parks are constantly in the works at Nickelodeon, and Zarghami teased details of a new entertainment lab, a tech incubator designed to experiment with VR, AR and AI technology.
