An Angry Birds short film, titled The Early Hatchling Gets The Worm, has landed in cinemas across the US and Canada, playing before screenings of The Angry Birds Movie.

The Early Hatchling Gets The Worm follows an unlikely friendship that forms between a Hatchling and a worm she adopts.

Previous Hatchling shorts have been released to mark holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day and Memorial Day and collectively they have garnered over 40 million views.

The Angry Birds Movie has passed the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office.
