Copyright Promotions Licensing Group has been appointed Western Europe licensing agent for Activision’s hit Skylanders property.
The licensing programme will launch later this year and run throughout 2013. Global publishing partner Penguin is already working on a range of books available this autumn.
The hugely popular Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure video game and toys first launched in October last year. Over 30m figures have been sold worldwide to date.
A sequel – Skylanders Giants – is due for release later this year.
“CPLG is the perfect partner to build our Skylanders licensing business in Europe,” said Activision Publishing’s head of licensing and partnerships Ashley Maidy.
“We have a great deal of interest from all product categories and look forward to developing a robust program that will allow consumers to further immerse themselves in the Skylanders franchise.”
CPLG’s EVP and director of entertainment Steve Manners added: “We are very excited to be representing Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure – it’s an incredibly innovative and popular property that has built up a huge fanbase in a very short space of time, making it a red hot prospect in licensing terms.
“We are actively signing licensees in all key categories and will be announcing partners very soon.”
