Cuphead charges into retail with 'robust slate of new product lines'

Studio MDHR’s hit game, Cuphead is charging into retail with a rounded slate of new product lines.

King Features Syndicate, the official licensor of the popular property detailed during the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas that Cuphead will be charged with an expanded merchandising programme with new apparel, accessories, costumes, home décor and more on the way.

Building on its initial line-up of Cuphead merchandise from the likes of Funko, Accutime, Fifth Sun and Dark Horse Comics, new product lines will begin to roll out at retail now.

Cuphead players will find both novelty and traditional sunglasses for kids and adults from Sunstaches, while Artovision is launching a collection of Cuphead-inspired shadowbox art, desktop art and postcards.

In Canada, Cuphead fans will be able to get their hands on activewear, sleepwear and swimwear from NTD Apparel for adults and kids featuring the gaming heroes.

US fans will be able to enjoy a selection of Cuphead skins for consoles, sontrollers, charging stands and more from Marketing Instincts, while Hypnotic Hats is launching a collection of socks and hosiery in the US and Canada.

“We have been blown away by the demand and passin that fans are showing for Cuphead and are excited to work with these best-in-class partners to bring fans from around the globe more ways to celebrate and engage with the game,” said Jarred Goro, senior director, North American Licensing for King Features.

2017 saw dozens of awards for Cuphead, including Annie Awards for Outstanding Achievement of Character Animation in a Video Game and Special Achievement, TIME Magazine’s Top 10 Games of the Year.
