Electronic Arts has revealed a number of new licensed games as part of its presentation ahead of this week's E3 video games show in LA.

First up, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will be rolling out in spring 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin for PC.

For the first time in the history of the franchise, zombies have taken over Suburbia and plants are on the attack. Fans will be able to play their way through all new modes, discover unique gameplay features and explore new maps. It will also deliver free content updates.

As a thank you to existing fans, all players of the original Garden Warfare will have the ability to transfer almost every one of their unlocked characters into Garden Warfare 2 right from launch.

"The first Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare was a simple idea, and we were humbled and amazed by how much players loved it," said Jeremy Vanhoozer, senior creative director of the franchise.

Meanwhile, EA says that FIFA 16 will 'deliver a balance, authentic and exciting football experience that lets fans play their way'.

For the first time, FIFA 16 will feature 12 Women's National Teams.

Teams from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden and the US will all represent their respective federations in several FIFA 16 game modes. These include Kick Off, an Offline Tournament, as well as Online Friendly Matches.

EA Sports also revealed that a new mobile game is in development - EA Sports FIFA - which will launch later this year as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.

Fans will have a chance to decide who joins superstar Lionel Messi on the cover of FIFA 16 in select regions, too.

FIFA 16 will arrive on September 26th in the UK on Origin on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

Finally, fans got the first look at Star Wars Battlefront gameplay with the debut of Walker Assault. Featuring up to 40 players, Walker Assault is one of the larger multiplayer modes in Star Wars Battlefront and pits Rebel forces against the Empire in an epic battle.

In addition, Star Wars Battlefront Survival Missions was also revealed.
