Halo drive gets off to a flyer

Microsoft property boosted with action figures, playsets, board games and apparel.

Microsoft's video games property Halo is forging ahead in the licensing arena, with a variety of branded merchandise on the way.

Action figures will be available from McFarlane Toys, with the Halo Wars collection wave one available from March. The company will be looking to build on the success of its Halo 3 figures last year.

Meanwhile, Mega Brands will be developing the first ever construction toy sets based on Halo Wars. Available from summer/autumn, the line will include buildable playsets from 65 to over 350 pieces.

A Halo version of Risk will roll out in spring/summer from USAopoly, while February will see a raft of new product being launched.

This will include Halo Wars: The Official Strategy Guide from Prima, limited edition collectible art prints from Acme Archives, posters from Trends International, wall clings and console skins from Gamer Graffix, apparel from Changes, accessories from BioWorld and the original soundtrack from Sumthing Else Music.
