McFarlane Toys to launch Cuphead construction sets next autumn

In a new partnership with King Features and Studio MDHR, the pop culture specialist and toy maker will launch a line of construction sets based on the look and game play of the award-winning video game.

McFarlane Toys has bolstered its construction set portfolio with the addition of the hit video gaming title Cuphead.

In a new partnership with King Features and Studio MDHR, the pop culture specialist and toy maker will launch a line of construction sets based on the award-winning video game next autumn.

Cuphead is a classic run-and-gun action game that focuses on boss battles and is inspired by the cartoons of the 1930s. Throughout the game, players guide Cuphead of his mate Mugman on a perilous journey to pay back their debt to the devil.

Along the way they acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves and discover hidden secrets.

To date, Cuphead has sold over two million copies worldwide, and is celebrated by fans for its arcade-action gameplay, signature style art and award-winning soundtrack featuring nearly three hours of original jazz, early big band and ragtime music.

The game has won over 20 major awards, including Xbox One’s Game of the Year and Special Achievement in Animation at the 45 Annual Annie Awards.

McFarlane Toys will stay true to the detail of Cuphead’s hand-drawn 1930s art style and each construction set will focus on Cuphead, Mugman and the game’s iconic bosses. The set will range from around 100 to 300 pieces.
