The digital world of Angry Birds is to set to meet the physical world, after Rovio inked a deal with playground equipment manufacturer Lappset Group to create branded activity parks.

The collaboration will see ready-made activity parks inspired by the Angry Birds characters pop up worldwide, beginning with Rovaniemi and Espoo in Finland next year.

In the UK, the products will be available through Lappset's daughter company, Lappset Playworld, based in Kettering, Northamptionshire.

There are over 20 products available including animal spring riders, swings, sandpits and a range of climbiung towers with slides. The range also includes an Angry Birds arcade game that can be played outdoors in the park.

Lappset has also made complete ready-made Angry Birds activity parks which can be supplied as a package solution for outdoor spaces of different sizes.

"We are very excited about this collaboration - having been downloaded around 500 million times, we are in no doubt about the populaity of Angry Birds," said Chris Jones, MD of Lappset Playworld. "We know that Rovio is keen to encourage players to head outdoors and getting active is at the heart of our philosophy so it's an ideal partnership.

"There will be exciting developments to come next year and we're looking forward to finding out where the first official Angry Birds park will be in the UK."
