Contender Merchandising has teamed up with Pinnacle Software for Peppa Pig: The Game, which will roll out on Nintendo DS on November 28th and Nintendo Wii in early 2009.
With DVD sales currently in excess of one million units, over one million Ladybird books sold and with brand recognition at an all time high, both firms are confident the game will be another successful string to the licensing programme.
Pinnacle will be supporting the release with an extensive six-figure marketing campaign featuring TV advertising, print advertising and advertorials in children's and women's magazines, in-store promotions and a PR push taking in TV, online, national and regional newspapers, radio and magazines.
"I am delighted to be working with such a high profile and well-known children's brand," said Pinnacle's MD Peter Sleeman. "It was a logical progression for Peppa Pig to finally have her own computer game and we are proud to continue the success of this licence by releasing on both the Nintendo DS and Wii formats."
Andrew Carley, head of licensing and merchandising at Contender, added: "Interactive video games are a huge entertainment medium enjoyed by children of all ages and, therefore, a natural home for Peppa Pig and her friends."
