Entertainment One's Peppa Pig is continuing to make in-roads in the video games sector, with P2 Games launching a Nintendo Wii title later this month.
Peppa Pig - Fun and Games will arrive on October 22nd, and P2 will be hoping it can emulate the success of the DS version, which launched at Easter and remains in the top 20 full price DS chart.
Ubisoft will be handling the distribution of the game. It includes ten games, plus a bonus activity.
P2 is planning a marketing blitz to back the title, including above the line marketing in the form of a Christmas TV ad campaign promoting the full range of Peppa Pig video games. Cross promotions are also being planned with upcoming DVD release, Santa's Grotto, with a trailer advertising the game.
"The Nintendo DS release of Peppa Pig - Fun and Games performed incredibly well and we're confident that the Wii version will also be a big hit this Christmas," said Gerry Whiteside, co director of P2 Games. "The consumer response to all our Peppa Pig video games has been overwhelming and crucial to the growth of our business."
Peppa Pig - The Game on DS was the first release in November 2008 and has now sold close to a quarter of a million copies. It was followed by a Wii version in 2009 and Fun and Games on DS later the same year. The cumulative total units sold to date across all three platforms in the UK is 400,000 copies in the past two years.
