Activision's Skylanders property was last night named as best licensed programme of the year at LIMA's International Excellence Awards.
Held on the first day of Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Skylanders also walked away with the award for best character or toy brand.
Other big winners included The Very Hungry Caterpillar/The World of Eric Carle, which was named best art or design programme of the year, and LEGO, which picked up best character/toy brand licensee (hard goods).
Hot Topic was awarded retailer of the year, thanks to its promotions for The Hunger Games, while Marvel's The Avengers picked up best film, TV, celebrity or entertainment programme.
"It was a tough competition this year, as there were so many wonderful licensed properties and programmes from all around the world to choose from - and our members rose to the challenge with a list of deserving honorees," said Charles Riotto, LIMA president. "The 2013 Award winners delivered outstanding entertainment value to consumers on a global scale, while helping to lead licensing industry growth for the second consecutive year."
