VEGAS 2015: Rovio grows North American slate for Angry Birds

The firm is looking to build Angry Birds' presence across the US ahead of the release of the first Angry Birds movie next year.

Rovio Entertainment has secured a flock of new licensing partners to help bolster its Angry Birds property across North America.

The new deals have been secured in anticipation of the release of the first Angry Birds full-length movie in May next year.

Spin Master has joined games partner Hasbro and recently announced LEGO in the toy sector, acquiring the rights for a selection of figures, environments, remote control and action games.

Meanwhile, Commonwealth Toy and Novelty Company is extending its relationship with Rovio for new plush lines.

Hybrid and Freeze will be leading the apparel charge with new fashion collections while sleepwear specialist Komar will deliver a collection of pajamas and loungewear.

Accesory Innovations will launch a line of Angry Birds themed backpacks, bags, lunch kits, luggage, headwear and cold weather accessories.

Finally, Dr. Fresh is helping to grow the brand’s oral care range with dental products including the Firefly Angry Birds Mouth Rinse.
