VIMN promotes Claire O’Connor to VP of consumer products in Asia, Australia and New Zealand

Viacom International Media Networks has promoted Claire O’Connor to the role of VP of consumer products and retail marketing, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

In this newly expanded role, O’Connor will continue to oversee the consumer products business in Australia and New Zealand as well as pick up the firm’s licensing activity in Asia.

Based in Singapore, the former senior director, Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products for Australia and New Zealand will report to Mark Whitehead, EVP and MD for Asia and Ron Johnson, EVP for Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products.

O’Connor replaces Jack Yew, who has recently transitioned to a new role as vice president of recreation (Asia) and international licensing partnerships, reporting to Ron Johnson.

“Claire has been instrumental in developing our consumer products business across Australia and New Zealand over the past five years,” said Ben Richardson, SVP and GM, VIMN Australia and New Zealand.

“She has created award-winning campaigns with many of our iconic Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and has forged strong relationships across the retail and licensing industry.

“With her strong track record, I am certain Claire will now bring her creativity, expertise and experience into her newly expanded role.”
