Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) are working on separate scripts for the title.

Warner Bros secures two writers for Aquaman movie

Warner Bros. has hooked itself not one but two separate writers for its Aquaman movie, one of the forthcoming instalments in its DC Entertainment universe.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Will Beall (writer of Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (writer of 300: Rise of an Empire) have been tasked with creating separate scripts for the film.

Warner Bros will then select the ‘best version’ allowing the studio to set a release date while the project is still in development.

Last week, Warner dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020. The first is due for release on August, 5th 2016, with two more due in 2017.

It is rumoured that Jason Mamoa has secured the role of the water-based hero.
