Deadline reports that the studio is preparing a new big screen outing for the iconic canine, 12 years after the last attempt at starting a Scooby-Doo film series.

The 2002 live action Scooby-Doo starred Freddie Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, Isla Fisher and a CGI Scooby.

The film grossed $268 million worldwide, a less successful sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, landed two years later.
