Warner in talks with Fast and Furious’ Justin Lin for Space Jam 2

A follow up movie to 1997’s Space Jam is picking up steam as Warner Bros. enters talks with director Justin Lin to helm the project.

Almost 20 years after the original film starring Michael Jordan hit the big screen, the Looney Tunes look set to make their return to the court in Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James.

According to Variety, rumours of a Space Jam sequel were first sparked last summer when James and his company SpringHill Entertainment signed a deal with Warner Bros.

The Clevelan Cavaliers player made his acting debut in the comedy Trainwreck in which he played himself.

Meanwhile, Lin – who is penning the movie’s script with Andrew Dodge – is best known for his efforts on the Fast and Furious franchise and is currently in post production on Star Trek Beyond.

A scheduled release date for the Space Jam sequel is yet to be confirmed.
