Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past has become the biggest global opener of 2014 so far, with a debut of $261.8m.
Screen reports that the film is estimated to take $90.7m in the US, and its global debut is the biggest for the X-Men series and the second biggest global opener for Fox behind Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Days of Future Past has also become the biggest Fox International opener ever in 11 countries, including South Korea, Brazil and India.
In Chinathe film made $37.7m, while in the UK it debuted with $14.2m from 1,400 screens, the biggest UK opening for any X-Men film to date.
The film is also now Fox International’s biggest opening ever in South Korea with $13.5m.
