YouTube star PewDiePie has launched a new online network in collaboration with Disney’s Maker Studios.
Called Revelmode, the network will feature the online celebrity (real name Felix Kjellberg) among other YouTubers to offer new shows, games, merchandise and commercial partnerships.
Under the partnership with Disney’s talent incubating initiative, Maker Studios, the pair will hand pick talent on the Revelmode network, including the horror gamer Ken Morrison (Cinnamon ToastKen), fashion and beauty expert Marzia Bisognin (CutiePieMarzia) and actor and comedian Mark Fischbach (Markiplier).
Through Revelmode, Kjellberg will hope to ‘bring together an Avengers-like talent squad to work and grow a business together,’ making content available via website and YouTube.
The network has been billed as the place to “focus on creating – form one-off videos to original series to animations, music, clothes, charity drives and more,” said Kjellberg.
Under the name PewDiePie, Kjellberg is the most subscribed YouTube star with 41.6 million subscribers to his gaming videos and vlogs.
“I have seen many challenges and successes in growing a brand and authentically communicating with an audience, and wanted to take what I have learned and create something unique,” he said.
“The idea of Revelmode was built from my own experiences and will aim to bring together an Avengers-like talent squad to work and grow a business together.”
