ZDF Enterprises has secured a raft of global broadcast deals for the growing pre-school property, Q Pootle 5.
The series has now been acquired by CBeebies Africa, Ketnet for Belgium, SVT for Sweden, NPO for Netherlands and NRK for Norway.
Produced in the UK by Snapper Productions, Q Pootle 5 is based on the best-selling books by children’s author and illustrator, Nick Butterworth. The series airs on CBeebies in the UK and has also been picked up by VGTRK in Russia, YLE 2 in Finland, TG4 in Ireland, HOP!TV in Israel, MTVA in Hungary, KiKA in Germany and ABC in Australia.
The latest deals for the popular preschool animation means it is now set to air in more than 70 countries worldwide.
“We are over the moon with these new deals and the ever expanding audience for Q Pootle 5,” said Ben Butterworth, Snapper Productions.
“Its loveable characters, creative storytelling and beautiful visuals have helped the series become as popular with audiences around the world as it is here in the UK, and we’re confident that this momentum will continue to grow.”
Katharina Pietzsch, director of ZDFE Junior at ZDF Enterprises, added: “We are very happy to have found so many great new partners for Q Pootle 5 and his friends and can’t wait to see our little aliens on screens in even more countries worldwide.”
Q Pootle 5 will also be heading to BLE this year, where Nick Butterworth will join the Rocket Licensing team for a book signing event.
From 11.45am on Tuesday, October 7th, Butterworth will be on hand to sign a new range of Q Pootle 5 titles from Walker Books.
The book range will be available at retail from this November.
